About Ashraya

Ashraya nurtures the untapped potential of children, making them peers with the best in the world! Ashraya is a non-profit-organization, which aims to provide inclusive and equitable education to every child across India through technology.

Our endeavor is to bridge the gap between education and learning in a scalable and sustainable way. We provide experiential-learning to the child which goes beyond the customary chalk-talk, thereby diminishing the dependency on the archaic form of education which is dominant in rural India, ensuring a holistic development of the child.

Founded in 1997 in Orissa, having its headquarters at Delhi, Ashraya is currently supporting and working with 22 schools across 07 states in India with over 9000 beneficiaries.

Over the last two decades, Ashraya has successfully executed multiple initiatives in Education, Health and Livelihood, reaching-out to several disadvantaged groups and beneficiaries in the society.

Our Vision is to align our work with the United Nations SDG 4, which is to provide quality education.

Our Mission at Ashraya is to build a learning ecosystem that ensures inclusive and equitable quality education while encouraging lifelong learning opportunities for all. As a result, we provide a platform that allows schools to create a digital learning environment and assist students.

Message from Founder...

I come from a small village in Bihar, India. As a child, I received a scholarship from the Indian government of Rs. 10 per month for five years, Rs. 50 for four years, and Rs. 110 for two years, a total of Rs. 5640. This amount of Rs. 5640, spread over 11 years, assisted me in acquiring my education.

The support I received led me to study multi-faceted subjects like Policy, Economics, Law, and Political Science from some of the world’s top universities like Harvard Kennedy, The Fletcher School, and EDHEC Business School.

I found the imperative need to provide equal opportunities to underprivileged children while ensuring the digital transformation of the education system in the country. I believe that the possibilities to learn and advance will bring India at par with all the other developed nations with a well-educated populace.

Our Work

This year through Ashraya we have created an ecosystem that integrates the insights from the world’s leading technologists and pedagogics into a holistic and comprehensive platform that could offer a world class educational experience to any school, regardless of circumstances. We have successfully completed a Pilot Project with Department of Tribal Welfare, Government of Madhya Pradesh and are currently engaged with the Ministry of Education, Government of India, implementing the Edufront Digital ecosystem in 5 Schools in Yavatmal District, Maharashtra
